The Shrinking Car Sales Market is Real

Posted on: 05/10/2018

The best example is the statement from Ford Motor Co. in late April that it will shed most of its North America car lineup as part of a broad plan to save money and make the company more competitive in a fast-changing marketplace.

That plan includes getting rid of all cars in the region during the next four years including the Fusion, Taurus, CMax hybrid and Fiesta in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The Mustang and a compact Focus crossover are the only two remaining.

The U.S. market is rapidly changing as trucks and SUVs are dominating sales.
