February 7, 2014

No major automaker ever had a woman holding the title of CEO until GM appointed Mary Barra to that position on January 15, 2014.

In one of her first interviews, Ms. Barra emphasized that the corporation wll remain on course with the successful plan of her predecessor, Dan Akerson.

According to details provided by GM, the company will launch 15 new or upgraded models this year in the U.S. after launching 18 vehicles last year. Working with its joint venture partners, GM will launch 17 new or upgraded models this year in China.

The change the consumer will see is the increase in prices of some models. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala average transaction price is $7,400 more than last year's model. The Chevrolet Silverado is commanding a higher price as well with the average transaction price $6,000 higher than the previous model.
