Incentives up in April

As zero (0%) interest rates are slowing disappearing from the marketplace by captive lenders, incentives continue to increase.
J.D. Power Valuation Services in its Used Car and Light Truck Guidelines (May 2018) reported "Automakers grew incentive spending once again in April, making it the 37th month in a row spending increased. On average, according to Autodata, spending reached $3,646 per unit versus $3,452 per unit in April 2017."
GM increased incentives by an extraordinary 24% to an average of $5,235 per unit. Ford had an increase of 7% to $4,406 per unit. FCA had a decrease of 0.3% and an average per unit of $4,356.
Toyota – incentives down 5%, average of $2,249 per unit.
American Honda – incentives down 12%, average of $1,257 per unit.
Nissan – incentives down 21%, average of $3,100 per unit.
The Ram had the highest average incentive at $6,489.
WardsAuto reported that the days’ supply of dealer inventory (72 days) increased by 4 days in April 2018 from March 2018, but was down from April 2017.
