GM Ignition Switches
Posted on: 06/26/2017
It now seems that GM will finally settle all lawsuits for the defective ignition switch lawsuit from several years ago.
Jonathan Stempel writing for Automotive News said "General Motors agreed to settle federal lawsuits by as many as 203 plaintiffs over defective ignition switches in its vehicles, a Friday court filing shows."
As expected, settlement terms are confidential and the article additionally stated the accord could also resolve hundreds of state court claims.
The recall for the defective switch dates back to February 2014. The number of deaths claimed as a result of the defective switch is 124 and 275 injuries.
There will be more updates on this settlement.
